Überlingen – Recognition for impressive innovation achievements: Christian Wulff congratulates the capricorn COMPOSITE GmbH from Düsseldorf on the jump into the TOP 100.
The award ceremony within the framework of the German SME Summit will take place on Friday, 26. June, in Heidelberg for all medium-sized businesses that have been awarded the TOP 100 seal at the beginning of the year. The former Federal President and Prime Minister accompanies the 33rd Innovation competition organised for the time as a mentor.
In the scientific selection process, capricorn COMPOSITE convinced in the size class B (51 to 200 employees in Germany) especially in the category of innovation success. The company is one of the top innovators for the second time.

TOP 100: the competition
Since 1993, compamedia has been awarding the TOP 100 seal for special innovative strength and above-average innovation success to medium-sized companies. Since 2002, the scientific direction has been in the hands of Prof. Dr. Nikolaus Franke. Franke is the founder and board member of the Institute for Entrepreneurship and Innovation of the Vienna University of Economics and Business. With 27 research awards and over 200 publications, he is one of the leading international innovation researchers. The mentor of TOP 100 is the former Federal President and Prime Minister Christian Wulff. Project partners are the Fraunhofer Society for the Promotion of Applied Research and the SME Association BVMW. capricorn GROUP (capricorn), the German-based specialist in high-performance lightweight engineering, will present a new iteration of the capricorn 01 Zagato hypercar at the prestigious Concorso d’Eleganza Villa d’Este, on the shores of Lake Como.
The car, which will be formally unveiled tomorrow (Saturday 16th May), introduces the ‘Tutto Rosso’ specification – a one-off, bespoke, customer-commissioned interpretation of the capricorn 01 Zagato, and the most visually distinctive expression of the project to date.
The capricorn 01 Zagato Tutto Rosso, which translates from Italian as ‘all red,’ represents a unique intersection of bespoke design and engineering development. While created in response to a specific customer vision, the vehicle forms part of capricorn’s ongoing prototype and validation program, ahead of the start of series production later in 2026.

capricorn GROUP the German based industry leader in automotive and motorsport lightweight technology will present two capricorn Zagato 01 hypercars at Salon Rétromobile Paris 27 Jan – 1 Feb 2026. The first customer deliveries will happen in 2026 following an intensive and rapid development process borne out of capricorn’s extensive motorsport engineering experience.
Both capricorn 01 Zagato hypercars are fully functional drivable prototypes and a third example is currently under build at capricorn’s Mönchengladbach’s production facility. All three models will play a pivotal role in capricorn’s test and calibration program as the brand rapidly accelerates towards a handbuilt production run strictly limited to 19 coupes priced at €2.95 million later this year.
